Sorry it has taken me a while to update you all! It has been a very busy day today. We left Jackson around 3 yesterday and got into Denver around 11 or so last night. Kayla and I were both very sad to leave our friends in Jackson. We are already planning our next trip to Wyoming as I type this. Thank you Danny, Ricky, and Jesse for an amazing week! :) This is Jesse and Danny's sad faces right before we left:
This morning we woke up and got into my car to head to Wells Fargo to open our new western bank account! When we turned on the car all these lights started flashing and I was terrified because I currently don't have the money to pay for any sort of car repair! We ignored this until after we opened our accounts and brought it into the shop. Turns out, nothing was wrong with the car except that it somehow ended up in 4 wheel drive and we were both unaware! When I was handing over my keys to the service department to have my oil changed, Kayla was talking to a man outside who noticed our Washington county tag. He was from Greenville and passed the information along to a man behind the counter who asked us if we were from Biloxi and we told him no and that we were from Greenville. His immediate response was, "Oh my goodness, we got some country bumpkins up in here ya'll!" Kayla and I were SO embarrassed. He must have heard our accents from the very beginning!
While on our way to lunch I received a phone call from our banker at Wells Fargo and he left me a voice mail saying that he wanted me to come back into the bank to have me sign a referral form for a job! He called Kayla and asked her the same and we drove immediately back to the office. He and I signed the form and so did his manager. He explained to me that this would get my foot in the door and that I would have the advantage over those who were also vying for the same jobs. This is wonderful news, as being unemployed in the west has been heavy on my heart and mind. I want to be here for a very long time, no matter the location, and I definitely needed some good news today. I am applying for the positions that they have open tomorrow so please keep me in your prayers and thoughts. Keep Kayla in your prayers and thoughts as well because she and I are going around the the area hospitals to turn in her resumes tomorrow!
Among all of this wonderful news, our roommate Elizabeth Anne, invited us to a friend's birthday party tonight in Denver. We were very excited to meet some of her friends that we will be seeing a lot in the upcoming months. They made us feel right at home and now we are in the bed, exhausted, and gearing up for tomorrow! We are visiting the local antique stores to find beds and furniture in the morning. They have some really great deals here in Denver and we are surely on a budget!
We are missing you guys today and love you tons!
