The biggest news EVER came to me earlier this week. After spending the holidays and whatnot in Aspen for as long as I can remember, I am FINALLY going to go back there next weekend. It has been like 10 years. The excitement I have for this is huge. Bigger than my college graduation, my birthday (all 23), or any other event that has taken place in my life that I could have possibly been excited about. In fact, I can't hardly sleep at night over it. It is my favorite place in the world. Some of my best memories are there, its my favorite place to ski, and if it wasn't so damn expensive I'd live there. And I am bringing my two roomies with me, so this will be a trip to remember for sure.
Every time something completely ridiculous happens to me at work I believe I'll tell you about it. My most recent fiasco involved a man from Kentucky whose grandson had stolen his credit card and had been paying his rent ($1,200 a month) for over 5 months. He called me the other afternoon wanting to know what the heck our company was and why we were stealing his money. I explained to him that I wasn't sure but that I would use my fantastic detective skills and find out. He asked for my name and I told him and this is what follows:
"Well I'll be damned. I used to know a stripper by that name in my hometown of Kentucky. Slept with the sherriff and most'a the men that side of town. It sure is a small world."
Wow.
So this would be somewhat interesting (and hilarious) had I been at the Blues Bar with my friends. But I was at work surrounded by my co-workers so I couldn't say much except- "Well isn't that crazy. I'm pretty sure I'm not the Anna you are referring to but please hold and I'll try to figure out why we are charging you monthly." At this point he didn't really care that we had taken thousands of dollars from him. He just wanted to share his stories of the "good ol' days" with the stripper. I'm going to go ahead and assume he was a little off his rocker, but that's okay. At the end of the call he complimented me on my accent and professionalism. So maybe this was to my benefit (considering he boasted to my co-worker that helped him figure out his grandson was a thief) albeit I wasn't the stripper he wanted to reminisce about.
So even though I talk to the phone with nut jobs during the day, the perks come on the weekends as the CEO has offered his Nuggets game tickets to me and my friends. How nice is that?! The tickets are for the game tomorrow night and I am really looking forward to it. I'll talk about strippers all day long for a few free game tickets. Definitely will be posting pics of that!
I know you guys might be wondering where the Halloween pics are. I will put them up tonight! That is another interesting blog post all in itself.
Sending love your way!
